Persian gazelle is one of the most beautiful animals in the world, sadly listed as “Critically Endangered” by The International Union for Conservation of Nature (ICUN). This artwork was created in February 2021 to support David Shepherd Wild Life Foundation, an organisation that supports endangered wildlife all around the world. It is the artist’s taking from a beautiful photograph by the talented local photographer, Mr. Hadi Ansari. The background and the composition is from the artist’s imagination.
The title “I See Dusk” was chosen to draw attention to the sunset scene in the stunning eyes of the gazelle, and to relate to the its worrying endangered status.
This is a large 50 x 70 cm (20 x 27 “) piece in which colour pencils were used to create the main subject, and pastels for the dusk scene in the background.
